Opened in 1986, the Palm is the more forgiving of the two Robinson courses—and the more photographed. It plays 6,761 yards to a par of 72, its two nines wrapping the hotel through palms, flowering beds and Robinson's trademark water. Multiple tees bring it back to any handicap.

The water is never far. It reaches its point on the par-3 17th, an island green ringed by palms with nowhere to bail, played just before the course returns to the resort core.

Island green, water all the way

The Palm's calling card is its penultimate hole: a short iron to an island green surrounded by water and palms, with the resort rising behind. Robinson built 35 acres of water into this property, and the 17th is where all of it comes to a head before the closing par 4 back to the clubhouse.

Caddie notes
01Water is in play throughout—mind the carry off every tee, not just the 17th.
02Take an early time; heat and pace both build through a desert afternoon.
