The South Course—long known as the Legends—was revamped by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner alongside the more famous North rebuild, sharing the same design language on a gentler canvas. Where the North chases championship drama, this eighteen is the everyday golf course: the layout resort guests and members play most, rewarding position over power. It shares the resort's Dick Wilson and Joe Lee lineage from the 1960s, and the mature trees planted decades ago now frame nearly every corridor. The result is a parkland walk that feels settled and established rather than freshly minted.

It measures par 72 at just under 7,000 yards from the tips, a full 500 yards shorter than its sibling, which shifts the emphasis from brute strength to placement. Gentle doglegs bend around those mature trees, and finding the fairway matters more than crushing it. There's water in play, a well-defended set of par 3s, and enough length in the par 5s to tempt a second shot. For most visitors it's the more enjoyable round of the two—demanding without the intimidation of the tournament venue next door.
