Robert Trent Jones Jr. built Poppy Hills for the Northern California Golf Association in 1986, then returned for a ground-up 2014 redesign—sand-capping the whole course, returning each hole to the natural forest floor, and rebuilding all 18 greens in bentgrass.

The result is one of the most walkable, purely strategic rounds on the peninsula, tucked into the pines of the Del Monte Forest a few minutes from Pebble Beach.
