The Oconee is Rees Jones's read of the site, pulling the lake's coves and inlets into play as primary hazards. The routing threads dense forest with waterfalls, ponds and fountains worked into the design; Jones returned in 2013 to clear trees and rebuild the greens.
It runs 7,158 yards and sits next to the Ritz-Carlton clubhouse, which makes it the social hub of the resort. The wooded, tree-lined corridors are a clear contrast to the open lakeside feel of Great Waters.
Resort guests book tee times across all five courses through the golf shop.
