The Piipaash—the former South—is the conventional companion to the O'odham's open desert: fairways framed by eucalyptus and cottonwood running to raised, well-bunkered greens, with the desert still visible past the tree line.
It's the shorter of the two at 6,833 yards and the pair's one departure from Coore & Crenshaw's hazard-free rule, with water in play on several holes including the creek carry at the par-5 16th.
