Sonoran
The Sonoran is the modern counterpoint to the Catalina: Tom Lehman opened it in 2005 as a true desert-style course, routed through native Sonoran terrain with steep elevation changes and the odd uphill-downhill shot the flatter parkland course never asks for. It's shorter—par 70 at about 6,500 yards—but the desert does the defending.
Play both and you get Tucson's two personalities in a day: the lush, tree-lined tradition of the Catalina and the target-golf, cactus-lined drama of the Sonoran.
