Black Desert Resort
Black Desert opened for play in May 2023 in Ivins, just outside St. George, and it made an entrance—Tom Weiskopf's final design, finished with his partner Phil Smith after Weiskopf's death, routed through ancient black basalt lava fields under vermilion cliffs. Emerald fairways run wide against the black rock, and the course has already hosted the PGA Tour, Utah's first FedExCup event in over sixty years.
The resort is desert-modern and new to its bones, steps from the first tee, with Zion National Park, Snow Canyon, and the Tuacahn amphitheater all within reach. Spring and fall are the comfortable windows; summer in the southern-Utah desert runs hot.
